Lt. Gov. O'Brien
The Colorado Space Coalition (CSC) promotes the state’s aerospace industry and companies through various events:

National Space Symposium—The CSC had a prominent presence at the 24th National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs April 2008, where it exhibited and previewed its new Web site www.spacecolorado.org. Colorado Lt. Governor O'Brien delivered welcoming remarks at the Symposium opening session and CSC members participated in an industry briefing with U.S. Senator Wayne Allard in addition to attending a reception for Colorado space companies hosted by the Consulate General of Canada.

Congressional Briefing—The CSC hosted a Congressional Briefing in Denver on March 17, 2008 with U.S. Senator Ken Salazar and U.S. Representative Mark Udall. Salazar and Udall updated the group on their work to expand Colorado's competitiveness in the aerospace industry.

Space Exploration Conference—Top leaders from industry, academia, NASA, and other government agencies attended the 3rd Space Exploration Conference, Feb. 26–28, 2008 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) in coordination with NASA, the event brought together the space community to review pivotal programs from the past and to synergize its input to support a robust space exploration program for the next 50 years. Colorado Aerospace Roundup —To grow our existing industry base, the CSC and the Colorado Space Business Roundtable co-sponsored the Colorado Aerospace Roundup in December 2007. More than 100 Colorado aerospace companies attended the one-day event at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Shana Dale/NASA Visit—The CSC hosted NASA Deputy Director Shana Dale in June 2007 for meetings with members and the state’s Congressional delegation. Dale shared NASA’s vision for promoting space education and advancing space exploration. Space Shuttle Launch—NASA recognized Colorado’s leadership in aerospace by honoring our state at the June 2007 launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-117). NASA hosted CSC members at the launch.

DIA Exhibit—The CSC, Denver International Airport (DIA), and Frontier Airlines produced a special exhibit “Colorado in Space: Our Heritage, Our Future,” featuring 30 Colorado companies and organizations. More than 300,000 travelers passing through DIA viewed the six-month display in 2007.
